Berliner Platz is an important building block in the future
Urban planning for Mönchengladbach, as it acts as an interface between an important transport hub and the Gladbachtal. The aim is to expand the city center and create new living space. The city center should continue to develop in the planning area at Berliner Platz and perceive the newly acquired building complex as a further, attractive pivot point in the cityscape.
The new building volume is viewed as a mixed-use building. The urban space is stretched like a green carpet over the entire rising building and, in addition to a city park atmosphere, ultimately offers a viewing platform over the entire city at the high point, as well as a café and restaurant that invites you to linger at this point. By making the roof accessible, the public urban space is expanded and the new high point defines the new solitary building as an adequate final destination.

The multi-generational house built around 1900 with large commercial space, which was most recently used as a restaurant with a large hall area, is to be converted to purely residential purposes.
